The group, which consists of Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, Paul Stanley, and Peter Criss, became popular not only because of their songs but because of their looks: they were known for dressing in extravagant costumes and painting their faces. They signed to the Casablanca label and released a string of records in the 70s, but really struck it big in 1975 with their live album Alive! The record went
